About Us

​Zingirlis Psychology is a Sydney based psychological practice dedicated to providing the highest level of care that balances cutting edge research on best practices, while respecting the uniqueness of each individual client.

Meet Yiota Zingirlis

Zingirlis Psychology is directed by Principal Forensic Psychologist Yiota Zingirlis. Yiota has 18 years experience providing a range of assessments, treatment, individual and group therapy in a diverse array of settings. Her varied experiences include employment with Mental Health services in acute and community settings, Pain Clinics, drug and alcohol diversion treatment programs, high secure inpatient and community Forensic Mental Health Services, Clinical Research as well as private practice settings. Prior to starting up Zingirlis Psychology, she co-founded of a company offering distinguished allied health services. She has also developed and facilitated several mental health and violence reduction programs​. 

Yiota has had the opportunity to live and study in various countries including the UK and the beautiful island of Cyprus. She has an open, warm and energetic style, is transparent in her approach and balanced in her assessments. She has a keen interest in helping clients achieve desired goals with an attuned sensitivity to their needs. Her eye for detail and analytical skills make her well suited for both forensic and clinical work. ​

Qualifications and Industry Associations:
  • Current PhD Candidate
  • Masters in Psychology (Forensic)
  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminology
  • Graduate Certificate in Research and Innovation Management
  • Formal training in assessments of neurocognitive functioning, risk of problem behaviours, personality and psychopathy as well as clinical and forensic treatment interventions
  • Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and endorsement in Forensic Psychology
  • AHPRA supervisor level for the Registrar Program Forensic Psychology, Higher Degree Program
  • Registered Medicare Provider
  • Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS)
  • Chair Elect for the NSW College of Forensic Psychologists
  • Committe member of the National College of Forensic Psychologists
  • Member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychiatry Psychology and Law (ANZAPPL)
